Holger Meyerotto is born 1959 in Berlin-Charlottenburg. His idiosyncratic and imaginative creativity already have been initialised since his earliest childhood. Nevertheless, he only got cautious applause for the tusche which was "only black" and the airplane without fuselage which he produced in school. Also later on, when he worked as professional bricklayer and stonecutter, his own ideas and creativity had to be postponed to his leisure time. Subsequently, his affection to used materials directed him as a trader to Berlin's flea markets, where he could gather a lot of scurrile spare parts for his future works. His first pieces of art arose in a garage in Wedding, his Berlin surroundings, called "Kiez". From now on, he did not have to wait too long anymore to move from the flea market to the art market in Berlin. The assortment of material got increased and the metal processing on high level standard became his trademark because of the refinement of his welding technology. The first shining objects and small sculptures emerged and were presented to the public at expositions and in art galleries from now on. |
